Given the positive results recorded in the infection with the virus and given the progress made in the national vaccination campaign against Covid-19 which today affects almost 9 million people, of which 6 million people have had both doses vaccine.
The Moroccan government is therefore applying a set of decisions aimed at alleviating health restrictions due to this Covid-19 pandemic, decisions which mainly affect cultural spaces, the events, leisure and transport sector which come into force in from Tuesday 01 June 2021.
It is now authorized:
- The opening of theaters, cinemas, cultural centers, libraries, museums and monuments up to 50% of their capacity,
- Gatherings and activities in closed spaces for less than 50 people and gatherings and activities in open spaces for less than 100 people, with the obligation to obtain authorization from local authorities if this number is exceeded,
- Party rooms up to 50% of their reception capacity provided that the number of people present does not exceed 100 people,
- Access to the beaches with respect for physical distancing and the opening of public swimming pools up to 50% of their reception capacity,
- Public transport means can fill up to 75% of their reception capacity.
We quote that since May 21, 2021, the Moroccan government had pushed curfew hours from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., which allows businesses, restaurants and cafes to be operational for longer.
Other decisions will follow with regard to entry at the borders.
